Lisa Stimpson has been designing and producing custom decorative glass for nearly thirty years. Specializing in “verre eglomise”, the term refers to an art form where precious metal leaf is applied to the reverse side of glass, etched, and backed with paint and varnish. The contemporary version incorporates a variety of techniques and technologies, enabling more elaborate designs and production facility. All panels are laminated to either glass or mirror to protect the leafing.

The glass has many varied applications, among them, wall and elevator cab panels, room dividers and doors, screens and dining enclosures, tiles and tabletops….wherever glass is specified, in nearly any environment, and in an endless variety of pattern and color.

In addition to the eglomise, laminated hand-dyed sheer silk, laminated custom printed fabric and laminated chrome printed glass have recently been added to the catalog, as well as custom printed drapery and upholstery fabric by the yard.

In her Brooklyn studio looking out on the Statue of Liberty, and with fabricators in various locations, Lisa has collaborated with architects, designers and artisans to provide defining elements in hotels, restaurants and residences worldwide.
